May the Force Be With You

Our Great Lawn is like one giant block party, where the neighbors change every week, and on Saturday, July 8, Festival audiences will be in the company of Jedi, Stormtroopers, and Droids at Star Wars and More: The Music of John Williams.

Pay tribute to Carrie Fisher and come dressed up as your favorite characters from "a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away," as the Grant Park Orchestra performs the orchestral music from your favorite films—Star Wars, Superman, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Hook, and more!

Guest conductor Thomas Wilkins, music director of the Omaha Symphony and principal conductor of the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, will be leading the orchestra in this epic tribute concert.

The orchestra will be performing Star Wars and More on both Friday, July 7 and Saturday, July 8 at 8 PM, and the Star Wars Costume Party will take place on the evening of July 8. All are welcome to participate in this free event! Come early to save a space on the Lawn, and pack a picnic, BYOB, and enjoy the music under the stars in Millennium Park with all of your friends from the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance.
