Thereza Lituma, Mezzo-SopranoProject Inclusion Fellows
Chicago native Thereza Lituma is a senior studying vocal performance and music education at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, and studies under the tutelage of Professor Sylvia Stone. She recently made her main stage debut as the title role in Lyric Theatre @ Illinois’ production of Benjamin Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia. She spent the past summer in Italy participating in the Scuola Italia Summer Program for Young Opera Singers, where she performed scenes from Falstaff, Gianni Schicchi, and Cosi Fan Tutte.
She made her stage debut in the role of Albanact in Purcell's King Arthur with La Nuova Aurora Opera. Thereza has been the recipient of numerous awards including the Tomas J. Smith Scholarship, the Mary Mottl Memorial Scholarship, the Sigma Alpha Iota Summer Music Scholarship, and the Mary Payne Performance Award.
