2018 Volunteer Orientations

Learn more about volunteer opportunities at the Grant Park Music Festival by attending one of our volunteer orientations. Join us on either Tuesday May 22, 6PM-8PM, or Thursday May 31, 2PM-4PM. Orientations takes place in the Choral Hall, located on the upper east side of the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park, 205 East Randolph Street.

Festival Volunteers
Festival volunteers welcome and assist patrons at information areas throughout the park before concerts and during open rehearsals by distributing materials, such as program books and audience surveys, and answering patrons’ questions. Volunteers may also be invited to assist with special projects in the administrative office and at other events.

Docents are volunteers who commit to studying detailed aspects of the Festival, Millennium Park, and classical music. Docents attend a series of pre-season learning opportunities and assist with leading discussions at open rehearsals and other events during the summer. Prospective docents must go through an application and interview process to join the program. The docent application process happens in November of each year.
