Shaina Martinez, SopranoProject Inclusion Fellows


Shaina Martinez recently graduated with her Master of Music degree from Manhattan School of Music. She also hold a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Maryland. She performed in Terrence McNally's Masterclass as Sophie with the Bermuda Festival. She has appeared in opera roles with the Lighthouse Opera Company, the Manhattan School of Music, Little Patuxent Opera Institute, and the Siena Music Festival. 

She has been a finalist and/or received awards from the Talents of the World Competition, XXI Concorso International de Canto Lirico, MONC Rocky Mountain Regionals, Eisenberg-Fried Concerto Competition, Alan M. & Joan Taub Ades Competition, DC Vocal Arts Society Art Song Discovery Competition, Altamura Caruso International Competition, Friday Morning Music Club Sue Goetz Ross Competition, and University of Maryland Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition. 

As a concert artist, she has collaborated with Perry So and the MSM Philharmonia as well as with former Met coach, Craig Rutenberg, in Opera America's Emerging Artist Recital Series. She will be joining Florida Grand Opera's Young Artist Studio during the 2019-20 season.
