Seating Options at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion

With a variety of seating options available, including free seats for every concert, there's a place in the Park for you!

The Great Lawn

The Great Lawn

Bring a picnic and a blanket and make yourself at home in Chicago's most spectacular setting, Millennium Park! The Great Lawn is free and open to all.

Outside food or drink, including beer and wine, is welcome at the Pritzker Pavilion for all Festival concerts (excluding the Independence Day Salute, where it is available for purchase at Millennium Park concession tents).

Our orchestra and chorus always perform to the back of the lawn, thanks to a sophisticated audio system that provides quality sound for all. Help make everyone’s experience as enjoyable as possible—if you would like to socialize during the music, please sit towards the back of the Great Lawn.

The Seating Bowl

The Seating Bowl

If you want to experience the music in unexpected ways, or simply want a comfortable chair, the Seating Bowl is the place for you. There are always seats that are free and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Food and drinks are welcome in the Seating Bowl. Coolers and picnic baskets should be stored under your seat during the concert and cannot block the aisles.

Reserved Seats

Reserved seating in the front of the Seating Bowl is also available for all Festival concerts. Your generous contribution, as a Member or a One Night Pass buyer, helps us to keep our concerts free. And, as our way of saying thank you, you get to experience our concert from a reserved seat close the stage.

Members and One Night Pass holders, please note the following:

  • If you are picking up your seating passes at will call, the Patron Service Center Box Office is located on the walkway to the west of the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park and opens 90 minutes before the concert.
  • Please plan to arrive early, as late seating is only permitted between appropriate breaks in the music.

  • Look for signs designating the reserved seating area.

  • Festival ushers (wearing purple shirts) are happy to help you.
  • Download a detailed seating chart
