ABOUT THE HONOREES

NORMAN MALONEPianist and music educator Norman Malone
Norman Malone is a Chicago-based pianist and music educator whose story is movingly told in the acclaimed documentary film For the Left Hand. Norman was a natural at the piano as a young child, and then a tragic attack at age ten left him paralyzed on his right side. Undaunted, Malone pursued a lifelong quest to reclaim his place at the piano and realized a dream to perform with a symphony orchestra at age 78.
