
Nicole Rivera
Mezzo-Soprano
Puerto Rican mezzo-soprano Nicole Rivera is a versatile performer whose previous roles include Friedericke in Straus's Ein Walzertraum and Third Lady in Die Zauberflöte. After performing at the InterHarmony International Music Festival in Germany, she was a featured soloist in the festival’s Heartstrings in a Chord concert at Carnegie Hall in 2016. In 2019, Nicole was seen as Baba in The Medium with Chicago Summer Opera. Nicole holds a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from North Park University, where she studied with bass-baritone Sam Handley. While there, Nicole performed the role of Gingerbread Witch in Hänsel und Gretel and was the alto soloist in Mozart’s Requiem. She also holds both a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and a Bachelor of Art in Psychology from Stetson University. Nicole was awarded a Vocal Fellowship with the Grant Park Music Festival in 2022. She currently resides in Chicago and studies with Anna Laurenzo.
