Scott Jackson
Violin
Scott Jackson is an accomplished violin performer, having competed in numerous competitions and selected as a semi-finalist in the 2011, 2012, and 2013 Sphinx Competitions. He is a founding member of the Price Hill String Quartet which performed regularly in Cincinnati, Ohio with generous support from ArtsWave, the nation’s largest community campaign for the arts.
In 2017, Scott received his Doctorate of Musical Arts from the Cincinnati College of Music and spent the year performing with All of the Above, a 6-person new music ensemble in residence at Xavier University. Their recorded album “Double Portrait” was released in 2020 and nominated for best engineered album, featuring new music by composers Edward Smaldone and Douglas Knehans. Scott was a member of the New World Symphony from 2018-2022 and occasionally performs with the Pittsburgh, St. Louis, and Kansas City Symphonies.
In addition to performance, Scott enjoys teaching and coaching students of all ages, recently joining Carnegie Hall’s NYO2 as a mentor and coach on their tour of Miami and New York.
Scott was a Grant Park Music Festival String Fellow in 2015.
