Sergio Carleo
Sergio Carleo is a Venezuelan-born violinist residing in Miami, FL. He made his solo debut in Venezuela, where he performed Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 3 with the Simon Bolivar Orchestra and under the baton of maestro Gustavo Dudamel. Sergio was awarded First Prize at the Maurice Hasson National Violin Competition and is the Grand Prix winner of the LISMA Foundation International Music Competition. Studies include work with Jose Francisco del Castillo, Albert Markov, Daniel Phillips, Aaron Rosand and Elmar Oliveira, and performances in masterclasses with world-renowned artists including Glenn Dicterow, Salvatore Accardo, Claudio Abbado, Shlomo Mintz, Ivry Gitlis. As an orchestral musician, Sergio has served as concertmaster of the Bard College Conservatory Orchestra in New York City, concertmaster of the Lynn University Philharmonia in Florida. He recently finished his tenure as a New World Symphony Fellow in Miami Beach, FL.
Sergio is currently a member of The Venice Symphony in Venice, FL.
Sergio was a Grant Park Music Festival String Fellow in 2019.
