Franz Josef Haydn: Symphony No. 94, Surprise
Ludwig van Beethoven: Mass in C Major

Description

Beethoven and his teacher Haydn didn’t agree on much, but each man held enormous influence over the musical life of Vienna and beyond. Continuing our celebration of the genius of Beethoven, the Orchestra presents two generations of Viennese composers, concluding with a lesser-known side of Beethoven—one of serenity, devotion and beauty—as captured in his Mass in C major. Markus Stenz returns as guest conductor.
