Featuring
Karen Slack, soprano
Michelle Cann, piano
Karen Slack and Michelle Cann present a free, intimate showcase of their GRAMMY Award-winning album, Beyond the Years: Unpublished Songs of Florence Price.
Beyond the Years is an opportunity to connect historically excluded musical legacies with present-day artistic excellence, motivated by the woman who first inspired this initiative: Florence Beatrice Price.
Karen Slack and Michelle Cann are 2026 Festival Artists-in-Residence.
How to Attend
CenterStage is the Festival's intimate concert series indoors. Concerts take place on the stage at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion. The big glass doors will be closed as we bring artist and audience together. Admission is free but a reservation is required.
Advance reservations for this event are now full. An in-person waitlist will begin forming at the Patron Services table starting at 1 PM on July 26. Beginning at 1:50 PM, patrons on the waitlist will be seated in the order in which they checked in as inventory permits.
Once you have checked in at the Patron Services table, you do not have to be physically present in line until 1:50 PM, where seating will open to those on the waitlist. Please be sure to return by 1:50 PM to ensure your spot is not forfeited.
