Visiting Masters

Listen and learn as an international lineup of visiting artists lead master classes with aspiring young professionals and Chicago-area music students.

Watch the 2020 Visiting Masters series, part of the Festival's virtual season. Special guests include cellist Alban Gerhardt, pianist Andreas Haefliger and violinist Christian Tetzlaff who worked with young musicians by remote.

Visiting Masters is free and open to the public. All classes begin at 12PM. Master classes take place in the Claudia Cassidy Theater at the Chicago Cultural Center*. A series inaugurated during the 2019 Festival, past Visiting Masters include: violinist Augustin Hadelich, harpist Yolanda Kondonassis and soprano Maeve Hoglund.


*Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the Claudia Cassidy Theater is closed. The 2020 Visiting Masters series took place via digital media.
